Industry & Origin
Rep Fitness is a gym equipment company that manufactures and retails multiple lines of machines, weights, gym accessories and much much more. Founded in 2012 in Denver, Colorado, Rep Fitness has grown from a 2 man team to a team of over 150 employees. Rep Fitness’s mission is getting affordable, high-quality equipment into the hands of their customers.

Key Outcome
Rep Fitness initially requested our Employer of Record service for hiring employees in November 2019. In the absence of a legal entity in China, Rep Fitness hired local employees in Shanghai through FDI China’s legal presence. We entered a two-way contract between the employees and FDI China, and FDI China and Rep Office in order to hire staff on their behalf in China so that they could commence operations
In September 2020, Rep Fitness decided to set up an entity of their own in China and contacted FDI China to register a representative office in Shanghai. In October 2020, the Rep Fitness representative office was fully registered. Once the business license was issued, we were able to assist with the opening of their corporate bank account at HSBC China. This process took an extended period of time due to China’s travel restrictions as HSBC requires the legal representative to be present in China for the bank interview. A few months later, in March 2021, the EOR employees (hired by FDI China on Rep Fitness’s behalf back in 2019 and 2020) were transferred to the Rep Fitness entity in China.
